Older people in rural areas often put off visiting a doctor. Our senior health camp in Nashik brought the doctor to them, checking 300 people over the age of 60.
The camp offered blood pressure and sugar tests, joint pain consultations and hearing tests. Walking sticks, walkers and reading glasses were given to those who needed them.
Seniors with long-term conditions were linked to the nearest government health centre for regular check-ups.
