Anaemia leaves many teenage girls tired and unable to concentrate, often without anyone noticing. Our awareness drive in Beed tested 400 girls in five schools and talked to them about what they can do about it.
Girls with low haemoglobin were given iron supplements through the local health centre, and every student received a simple guide to iron-rich foods that are cheap and easy to find.
We will test the same girls again in three months to see how much their levels have improved.
