Our clean village campaign in Ratnagiri brought together volunteers, students and gram panchayat members to clear plastic and waste from the riverbanks.
In one weekend, the teams collected nearly two tonnes of waste. Recyclable plastic was sent to a local recycler, and the four villages now have separate bins for wet and dry waste.
School students have formed clean-up squads that will check the riverbanks every month.
