Broken school toilets are one of the reasons older girls drop out of school. We renovated toilets in four village schools in Buldhana and built new handwash stations beside them.
Each school now has separate toilets for girls and boys with running water. Student hygiene monitors check the facilities every day.
Teachers ran handwashing and hygiene lessons in every class, and parents helped paint the new blocks.
