Eight new self-help groups in Ahilyanagar district have opened their first group savings accounts. Each group has 10 to 12 women who save a small amount every week.
Our team trained group leaders in simple bookkeeping, running meetings and lending to members. We also went with them to the bank to complete the paperwork.
For many members, it is the first time they have had a bank account and savings in their own name.
